Hinds + Lesma na Casa Capitão. A força da mulher e da liberdade

As madrilenas Hinds vieram a Lisboa, à Casa Capitão, no passado sábado para finalizar a tour de “Viva Hinds”, disco lançado em 2024 e trouxeram consigo aquilo a que o público português sempre se habituou desde a primeira vinda do grupo de rock de garagem, já há mais de dez anos, a Portugal – energia, liberdade e diversão. Texto: David Pissarro Fotos: Pedro Sebastião O duo espanhol convidou as portuguesas, Lesma, para fazerem a primeira parte de uma noite muito esperada apesar da sua curta marcação, apenas há sensivelmente três semanas. Foi um grande sucesso, uma noite de casa cheia que contou com muita energia, partilha e muito, muito rock. A primeira parte deste concerto SUPER na Casa Capitão foi da autoria do trio sintra-margem sulense Lesma, uma das bandas mais recentes e que mais rápido cresceu no underground português, que conta com Leonor Casimiro (voz, guitarra), Rita Mira (baixo) e Beatriz Sobralinho (voz, bateria). As Lesma trazem para o cenário português, que neste momento está marcado pelo som polido e mega produzido, um contraste que faz falta – energia crua e pouca produção, enquadrando-se numa estética musical de grupos como Vaiapraia ou Pega Monstro. Entra a bateria e dá-se inicio ao concerto com “Homem”, penúltimo tema do álbum de estreia “É Mentira”, lançado em 2025, marcando o tom do que aí vinha, puro punk e rock feminista, seguido de “Maria”, tema com uma grande pitada de sátira e de referência a Xutos, mas com um pequeno twist que faz rir qualquer um. Este tom cómico está presente em todos os temas do registo editado pela Saliva Diva, editora independente baseada no Porto. Logo de seguida e sem grandes paragens, o grupo apresenta “Everyday (oh yeah)”, um tema extra do primeiro registo do trio, um rock cru e puro, presente ao longo de todo o álbum, fazendo até lembrar o som dos primeiros álbuns de grunge que saíram de Seattle. É seguido de “Breakdown”, um baixo pesado acompanhado pela bateria cria um ambiente mais negro, alternando constantemente entre uma sonoridade lenta e rápida, com andamento e batidas de punk tradicional, desta vez sem voz, um tema puramente instrumental. “Sexgma” e “Dominante Cona”, sendo o primeiro ainda um tema que não está editado, vieram logo a seguir, num concerto em que o público já estava fã por completo das Lesma e que muito pouco tempo esteve parado. À semelhança de “Breakdown”, o tema seguinte, “Dominante Cona”, que contém elementos de post-hardcore, é o primeiro tema de “É Mentira” e também não tem voz, no entanto, o título consegue-nos dar exatamente o tema do mesmo, presente ao longo de todo o disco. A vocalista e guitarrista, Leonor Casimiro, com um mote simples e direto, caracteriza em poucas palavras o que as Lesma são: “Quem gostou, fixe. Quem não gostou, foda-se”. É precisamente esta atitude que atrai o público mais jovem aos seus concertos, a honestidade pura e o querer fazer as coisas à sua maneira. É um reflexo dos jovens em Portugal e, sem dúvida alguma, uma atitude muito necessária no cenário nacional. A seguir, veio o “Heroína”, outro tema mais indie/psicodélico com uma vertente muito forte de spoken-word, talvez um dos temas que mais inclui esta vertente. Fala do vício do telemóvel com outro elemento muito característico no seu estilo e que é algo que ressoa muito com os seus contemporâneos da Gen Z – um humor sarcástico e direto. Em “Heroína”, o telemóvel e o vício nele inerente pelo funcionamento das redes sociais, é um gerador de ansiedade, com o contraste na alternativa de largar o telemóvel para um vício mais produtivo, como “fumar um cigarro e olhar para o céu”. A crítica social das “três filósofas do século XXI” foca-se em vários aspetos como a desigualdade de género, a situação social e económica atual, com uma atitude muito simples – eu sou quem sou e sou o que quiser ser. Outra característica muito importante para as Lesma é a secção rítmica composta por Rita Mira e Beatriz Sobralinho que cria uma base muito forte para os devaneios poético-vocais da vocalista, Leonor Casimiro. Antes do esperado último tema, as Lesma tocam os calmos primeiros acordes do penúltimo tema, “Eu sou uma (colher)”, onde muitos elementos de psicodelia estão presentes e o baixo elétrico é, sem dúvida, rei. O Rés do Chão da Casa Capitão canta a plenos pulmões e acapella “Eu sou uma colher, não tenho garfo”, refrão simples que apesar de ter um grande sentido de humor, é marcado pelo empoderamento da mulher. O seu concerto acaba com o já clássico dentro do underground “Barreiro”, com uma sonoridade ala The Stooges, um tema muito forte e que contém os principais aspetos deste power trio na sua forma mais pura – a crítica social e o sentido de humor, que contagiam todos e põem uma sala de cheia de putos a gritar “Barreiro”. Isto só as Lesma conseguem fazer. A energia estava lá, o público aquecido e com toda a certeza foi um ótimo começo para a noite que esperava ansiosamente pelas espanholas, Hinds. O duo espanhol Hinds composto por Carlotta Cosials (voz, guitarra) e Ana García Perrote (voz, guitarra) e que conta ao vivo com a colaboração da baixista Paula Ruiz e da baterista Maria Lazaro, voltou a Portugal para finalizar a tour do seu trabalho mais recente, “Viva Hinds”, editado em 2024 pela Lucky Number, editora independente baseada em Londres. Este disco é uma mostra de vida, uma conversa entre o passado e o presente, com sonoridades novas e antigas. Foi produzido por Pete Robertson (The Vaccines) e conta com participações de Beck e Grian Chatten, dos Fontaines D.C. O grupo, formado em 2011, foi composto por Carlotta Cosials e Ana García Perrote e com o nome Deers, mas após anos de ausência, em 2014, voltam com outra identidade, gravam versões de músicas dos seus grupos favoritos e um novo nome – Hinds (veados femininos, em inglês). À conversa com Francisco Cordeiro sobre a edição 2026 do festival Bilha D’Aço

A segunda edição do Festival Bilha D’Aço prepara-se para ocupar Caneças, no distrito de Lisboa, nos dias 27 e 28 de março, com um cartaz dedicado à música pesada portuguesa. Entre os nomes confirmados estão Mão Morta, Ramp, Avesso, Besta, Thormenthor, Sinistro, Equaleft e Capela Mortuária, reunindo tanto bandas icónicas como projetos emergentes da cena nacional. “Em Memória do Miguel II” reúne My Dementia, IRAE e Fading Embers no Side B Rocks, em Alenquer

A segunda edição do evento “EM MEMÓRIA DO MIGUEL II” realiza-se no próximo dia no espaço Side B Rocks, prestando homenagem a Miguel Carneiro, eterno integrante da banda My Dementia. A iniciativa pretende celebrar a vida e o legado musical do artista, dando também a conhecer o seu último trabalho. Para assinalar a ocasião, os My Dementia vão subir ao palco para um concerto único, no qual será apresentado o álbum lançado em 2025, considerado o derradeiro registo criativo ligado ao músico. A noite contará ainda com a atuação dos IRAE como cabeças de cartaz, numa fase posterior ao lançamento do seu trabalho mais recente, In the Key of Twilight. A abertura do evento ficará a cargo dos Fading Embers. O espetáculo tem início marcado para as 21h30. Cobrafuma acendem o palco com ‘Droga Total’, primeiro single do novo disco

Os Cobrafuma, banda portuense conhecida por não ter freios, revelam o primeiro single do seu novo disco homónimo, “Droga Total”, que chega a 18 de maio. O tema mantém o ADN da banda: riffs rijos como aço, baixo venenoso e bateria em estouro bravo. Temptations for the Weak return stronger than ever with The Venom Inside, described by the band as their most ambitious and versatile work to date. Blending thrash metal, metalcore, and aggressive melodies, the album channels raw energy, intensity, and emotion in every track, exploring themes of resilience, darkness, and personal struggle. With top-notch production by Scott Atkins in the UK and international collaborations including Jesse Leach of Killswitch Engage, the record showcases a band that has not only honed their sound but also elevated their artistic vision. By Sandra Pinto In this interview, Djoni Tregub and Jadran Beauprez discuss their songwriting process, the inspirations behind tracks like Your Own Suffering, the creative freedom of releasing independently, and how their live experience shapes the energy and honesty of their music. The Venom Inside is described as your most ambitious and versatile work to date. How do you define this evolution compared to previous albums? Djoni : This is definitely an album we couldn’t have made 5 years ago. Last couple of years were very busy for the band so we all felt like we needed to step up with this one. We left no stones unturned, worked really hard on the songs and just being honest about certain parts of the songs that were not working yet but had potential. The album combines thrash metal, metalcore, and melodic aggression. How do you balance these elements to create a cohesive sound? Djoni : It kind of happened naturally this time around as we had a clear vision of what the sound of the band should be. In the past it was kind of forced at times to really follow the “metalcore” sound (screams on the verses/singing during choruses). Now we just let the song dictate what it needs. Your Own Suffering has been called the hardest and meanest track on the album. What was the inspiration behind this song, and how does it fit into the overall theme of the record? Djoni : Musically it all kind of fell in its place after the intro riff was written. It took about a day or 2 to finish it. Lyrically it was a bit of a struggle. The chorus took about 4 different versions after we finally settled with something with a great hook and powerful lyrics. Originally the lyrics were written about the Chernobyl nuclear disaster and the aftermath of that. How did the band decide on the title The Venom Inside, and what does it represent conceptually? Jadran : The snake is something that comes back in all of TFTW’s artwork. For me it resembles ‘temptation’ Like the ancient story of Adam and Eve where the snake hisses in the ear of Eve to ‘ just take the bite ’ In our new artwork that same serpent is representing ‘the venom’ coiled tightly around a human heart. “The Venom Inside” represents the hidden darkness the human race can carry or hide without showing a trace on the surface. You worked with producer Scott Atkins in the UK. How did his approach shape the sound of the album? Jadran :Every member of TFTW is a die-hard fan of the UK metalband Sylosis. We’ve been absorbing their crushing riffs, precision, and massive productions for years. That sound shaped us more than we can put into words. The force behind the Sylosis sound is Scott Atkins. His work set the benchmark for power, clarity, and raw aggression. When we started writing our new album, the songs were demanding that same intensity, heavy, honest, and unpolished where it needed to be. From the very first conversations, the connection was there: clear communication, mutual understanding, and a shared vision of what this record had to become. The single Crossroads features Jesse Leach from Killswitch Engage. How did this collaboration come about, and what was it like working with him? Djoni : We were finishing up the recording session but we felt like we needed something special for the album. During that time Jesse Leach was accepting some session work so we took a chance and sent him out demo’s, thinking we would be buried in all the emails. The very next day we got a very generous reply from him about how much he liked the songs and would love to work with us and the rest is history! Sweetheart of a guy, always very friendly and true to his word. He really gave it his all during the performances. Did the international collaborations influence the songwriting or musical direction in any unexpected ways? Djoni : Not really, we just knew that we needed to step it up and cut no corners with this one. Nothing worse for a professional like Scott to receive bad performances and try to save it in the mix. Modern metal can be both aggressive and melodic. How do you ensure your tracks hit hard while still engaging the listener emotionally? Djoni : I think if you’re being honest in what you do, people will gravitate towards it and find themselves in certain songs. Your band has a strong live reputation and has played major festivals. How does performing live influence the way you write or arrange songs for the album? Djoni : For us it’s all about the energy we bring during our live shows so we really tried to bring the same level of energy in those tracks. Also it’s very important for us to have variety so that it doesn’t feel like you’re listening to the same song over and over again. Some tracks like Crawl Through the Ashes and Legacy suggest darker themes. How do you approach lyrical storytelling in your music? Djoni : Usually the music tells you what you should sing about. If that doesn’t happen, the lyrics just won’t come. I always start off with a few sentences and let it marinade for a long time and really walk around with the themes in my head.
